A pretty rush-like plant to 3-4 feet for wet soil or shallow water with its umbels of one inch rose colored flowers with red stamens. The flowers continue for much of the summer and are said to have the smell of bitter almond–the rhizomes, formed in the fall, have been used as food. Seed fine, surface sow and keep from drying out. Zone 4.
