This is one of the easiest shrubs to grow from seed and an early sowing will give flowers the first summer. It is a “dieback" shrub in the North (its best cut to the ground yearly anyway to keep it from getting leggy) and should be in every garden planted for fragrance, butterflies or color. Can go to 5 or 6 feet in a summer so give it some room.
